Break the monopoly. Pour local.

A citizens’ campaign for the right of small, independent wine shops to hand you a sealed bottle at the end of the night.

Why can’t I take it home?

A wine bar pours you a pét-nat. A bottle shop lets you taste an orange wine before you buy. None of them can sell you a sealed bottle to take home, because anything above 8% belongs to Alko, a state monopoly since 1932.

The monopoly only protects itself. And apparently the government still doesn’t trust you to take care of yourself after 9pm.

We want to let independent, licensed wine shops sell wine above 8%, alongside Alko.

100,000 supporters

In 2027 we open the citizens’ initiative for signatures. It takes 50,000 to send it to Parliament. We want to double that.

Started at Luu’s Wine Shop, backed by people from across Finland’s wine industry. Meet them, and read the full proposal, when the campaign launches.

Support the change

Our merch is released gradually, in small limited editions made with our local artist friends and campaign supporters. Our first drop was designed by talented local artist Maria Klata. Once a print is gone, it’s gone: we never reprint.
